Davis Island Garden Club Bridal Showcase

So we are running on little sleep right now as we get our dessert table ready for the 3rd Annual Davis Island Bridal Showcase coming up on Sunday, February 28 from 12:00PM to 4:00PM. Produced by the wonderful, Table Six Productions' Shannon Wilson, each one of the vendors are hand-picked and are some of the best in the industry.

So to give you a few details on what we are doing...we're going with a bright yellow and gorgeous blue palatte. We have a great yellow, wildflower print that we are working with and it's just precious. Even though it's freezing, I wanted the table to feel modern, crisp and just like "spring." The Cupcake Spot and Better Bit of Butter are working hard this week on some special desserts that will be included on the table. Thanks to my amazing team for pulling everything together this week!

This really is going to be an amazing show-see you there!

Dessert Table-Taste of 7, Special Equestrians

I usually do not like to post events until after I receive photos but this was such a special event for me, that I could not resist. Anna from Lucia/Paul Design (with a fabulous team behind her) created an amazing event for Special Equestrians, a wondeful organization that...well, I'll just let her tell you in her own words....

"The event is called Taste of Love 7 and it is to benefit an organization that is near and dear to my heart called Special Equestrians. Special Equestrians is a 501 c 3 organization that does some pretty amazing things. I have had the honor and the privilege to be a part of the board for almost 8 years (even through all of my travels and moving around) and it's one that I will never leave. Special Equestrians is comprised of only three part-time employees and a slew of amazingly talented and dedicated volunteers...including everyone on the board. Every hard earned dollar that they make goes directly to the program to help cover the expenses and the small salaries for our part-time heroes."

A taste of Lucia/Paul's Inspiration....
Enjoy...and sorry...I am the culprit for these photos...better quality shots to come soon....

Love, love, loving today’s real wedding…filled with gorgeous jewel-toned details, a perfect bride and an eclectic wedding style. It’s really refreshing to see a bride completely embrace her own style and design a wedding that envelops who she and her fiance are as a couple. The uber-talented Staci Mandikas from Unique Event Design worked her magic once again "....ornate and antique bronze touches will bring in the Mediterranean aspect. Light reflecting crystals will create the feminine elegance that the bride is seeking. Multi-colored and iridescent elements will flow throughout the space, reflecting the same characteristics of the peacock feather...." Can you see it????
Ari, our wonderful bride, was very clear in her vision-she did not want it too look, literal, but rather capture the essence of the jewel-toned colors in the peacock feather-shades of blue, purple, green and bronze. We came across a fantastic Japanese Chiyogami print with a contrasting geometric pattern of black and brown with metallic green accents. From there we worked on the details-peacock feathers on all of our labels, feathers arranged around our vases and finally, a great centerpiece of gold-leaf birch branches and peacock butterfly ornaments pulled it all together.

When Ari and Allan saw the table she was so excited, which of course, made our night!

Enjoy!

Many of you know that I was lucky enough to have a dessert table at the debut fashion show for the 2010 Anglo Couture Fall Collection by Vicki Anglo. We were absolutely thrilled. Vicki is an amazing artist and designer that has drawn such inspiration from each one of her brilliant designs. As Vicki notes, "...every woman should be able to express and feel exactly who she wants to be on her special day." So very true!

The venue had such a cool-artsy vibe to it, so we wanted the table to be very clean and modern. We took a stunning black paisley print white fine paper that makes an elegant accent to virtually anything. Set on top of a silver satin linen with black runners set across made for a dramatic focal point. From there we worked with our desserts-red velvet and chocolate cake pops, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, vanilla taffy and of course, some fantastic cookies by my favorite baker up in New York, We also found some fantastic branches at Pottery Barn and hung treat bags with a modern-looking bride imprinted on the bags, which is a fun way to display favors.

Of course, when you have a photographer like Carrie Wildes-she just makes anything look absolutely gorgeous.

Enjoy!
